                   Thanksgiving Treats

Thanksgiving Day comes, by statute, once a year; to the honest man it comes as frequently as the heart of gratitude will allow.

– Edward Sandford Martin

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of all. I love the colors of Autumn, the crisp bite of chilly air in the morning, the piles of hay bales and pumpkins and fallen leaves. But most of all I love the foods traditional to this holiday. Of course, I give them my own twist~ what chef doesn’t want to tweak a dish or add a little something to make it a little more special? So while I am thinking about it, I am sending out my Thanksgiving order list now for you to look over and pick from. Please keep in mind that it is just me cooking, so I will have to stop taking orders when the list reaches the maximum that I can handle on my own. I want to give each item the attention it deserves in order to give you the highest quality, tastiest dish, so there will be a limit to how much I can produce. That being said, it is not too early to get your order in! Don’t be shy!

Vegetables and Vegetarian/vegan Options
Stuffed Pumpkin~ a single seving pumpkin filled with savory quinoa pilaf made with vegetables fruits and nuts, then baked to perfection. Gluten free, it is a perfect entree for Vegans & Vegetarians. Please order by the peice.

Gluten Free Cornbread Stuffing~ chock full of raisins, walnuts (or not), apples, fresh herbs, celery and onions. It’s delicious!

My ‘traditional” stuffing~ A tasty blend of fruits, nuts, seeds & fresh herbs w/ multi-grain bread croutons. I can add sausage if you like

Roasted Brussels Sprouts~ It is truly unbelievable what 45 minutes in the oven can do to the much-maligned Brussels Sprout. They caramelize and transform into a surprisingly tasty treat.

Corn Pudding~ A mix of corn & red peppers in a custard-y base. I make it for my family every year….

Roasted Butternut Squash~Large chunks of squash roasted with apples, red onions and garlic….it’s the best!

Smashed Potatoes & Rutabagas~Smashed potatoes with a happy addition! The rutabagas give the potatoes an added delicious dimension…you have to try ’em!

My own Orange Cranberry Sauce~ sweet and tart together

Asian Sesame Cole Slaw, Fennel & Apple Slaw , Kale Slaw, or Traditional Coleslaw

If you have a favorite something that you’d like , just ask. If I can, I will make it for you.

I could also make crudite trays or other
hors devours…

Soups

Carrot Rosemary Soup

Butternut Squash & Apple Soup

Roasted Winter Vegetable Soup
